School Psychologist

Beldon Education Support Centre and Beldon Primary School are very fortunate to have Amanda Anzai, school psychologist, onsite 2 days per week.

The school psychologist works with school staff, families, and community providers to support the needs of individual students. The school psychologist may also be involved in whole school support systems for students.

Examples of services the school psychologist may provide include:

  • Direct services, such as assessment, case formulation and individual or small group interventions.
  • System services, for example incident management planning and response; working with school leaders towards school improvement; embedding evidence-based approaches to universal wellbeing promotion; supporting with case management processes for students at educational risk; prevention and early intervention; positive school culture and safe and supportive schools.
  • Indirect services, for example, consultation and collaboration with school staff, families, and agency partners

Please be aware that school psychologists are not primary providers of clinical mental health services for children and young people. Referrals to the school psychologist service are made in consultation your child’s teacher and the school’s student services team (Deputy Principal and/or Principal). If you would like the school psychology service to be involved in supporting your child, please request a form from your child's class teacher and your request will be considered.
